Study in United Kingdom from Pakistan
Checked October 9, 2026 against official sources
The United Kingdom is one of the most popular destinations for Pakistani students, thanks to its globally recognised universities, English-language teaching and long-standing educational ties with Pakistan. Most bachelor's degrees take three years and many taught master's degrees take just one year, which shortens the time and cost of study. Graduates can stay on and work through the Graduate visa, and the large British-Pakistani community helps new students settle in.
Why Pakistani students choose United Kingdom
- Most taught master's courses can be completed in one year
- Degree-level students can work up to 20 hours a week in term time and full-time outside term
- Graduate visa lets you stay and work after your degree (2 years if you apply by 31 December 2026, 18 months from 1 January 2027; 3 years for PhD graduates)
- Undergraduate applications are made centrally through UCAS
- All teaching is in English; degree-level study requires English at CEFR level B2
