Chevening is the UK Government's flagship scholarship for future leaders, funding a one-year master's degree at any UK university. Pakistan is a Chevening country and applications for 2027-28 are open now.

What it covers

  • Tuition fees
  • Monthly personal living allowance (stipend), set by whether you study in or outside London
  • Economy return travel to the UK
  • Arrival allowance
  • Departure allowance
  • Travel top-up allowance
  • Cost of one UK visa application
  • Contribution of up to £75 for TB testing, where required

Who can apply

You can apply from Pakistan if you:

  • Are a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country (Pakistan is eligible) and live in an ODA-eligible country.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree that gets you into a UK master's programme, and finished it at least two years before the deadline.
  • Have at least 2,800 hours of work experience gained after your undergraduate degree.
  • Apply to three different eligible UK courses and hold an unconditional offer from at least one of them by the offer deadline (8 July 2027 for this cycle).
  • Agree to return to Pakistan for at least two years after the scholarship ends.

There is no upper age limit.

How to apply

  1. Check the eligibility and work-experience rules on chevening.org.
  2. Pick three eligible one-year taught master's courses in the UK.
  3. Create an account on the Chevening application system and submit your application (including the essays) before 6 October 2026, 11:00 UTC.
  4. If you are shortlisted, upload your documents at least seven working days before your interview at the British High Commission.
  5. If you are selected, get an unconditional UK university offer by 8 July 2027.

  • Valid passport or national ID (photo ID)
  • Undergraduate degree certificate/diploma
  • Two reference letters
  • Unconditional offer from a UK university (by the offer deadline)
