OGRA has fixed the maximum consumer price of LPG at Rs 279.34 per kg from 1 October 2026, which is Rs 3,296.23 for a domestic 11.8 kg cylinder.
What is the price of a 45.4 kg commercial cylinder?
OGRA notifies the price per metric ton, per kg and per 11.8 kg cylinder. At Rs 279.34 per kg, a 45.4 kg commercial cylinder works out to Rs 12,682 (our calculation from the notified price per ton).
How often does the LPG price change?
OGRA revises the price at the start of every month, based on the Saudi Aramco contract price for propane and butane and the dollar rate. The notification is usually issued on the last day of the previous month.
What if a dealer charges more than the OGRA price?
The notified price is the maximum at every level of the supply chain; sellers may charge less but not more. You can complain to OGRA through its complaint portal or helpline, or to your district administration's price control magistrate.
How much tax is in the LPG price?
The price includes 18% sales tax on the producer price and on the marketing, distribution and transport margins, and a petroleum levy of Rs 4,669 per ton.
