Steps to study in Hungary

  1. Choose a university and programme using the Study in Hungary Study Finder.
  2. Check entry requirements and deadlines with the university; self-financed rounds often close around February for September intake (November for February intake).
  3. For the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, apply on stipendiumhungaricum.hu and also through the HEC Pakistan scholarship portal by their deadlines.
  4. Apply on the university's online form with your CV, motivation letter, passport copy, proof of language proficiency, translated transcripts and diplomas, and two reference letters.
  5. Attend any entrance exam or online interview the university requires.
  6. Receive your acceptance letter (usually around late July) and pay the required part of the tuition fee.
  7. Apply for a residence permit for study purposes at the Hungarian consulate, showing accommodation, enough funds and health insurance.
  8. Travel to Hungary, enrol at your university and complete residence formalities with the immigration authority.
