KIT is a public research university in Baden-Württemberg, formed from the University of Karlsruhe and a national research centre, with particular strength in engineering, natural sciences, informatics and economics. As in the rest of Baden-Württemberg, non-EU students pay state tuition fees.

English requirementSet per program. Example (Applied Geosciences MSc, English level B2): TOEFL iBT at least 90; IELTS at least 6.5 overall, no section below 5.5; Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency; UNIcert level II. Many bachelor's programs are taught in German.
