Türkiye Scholarships (Türkiye Bursları)

Türkiye Scholarships is a fully funded government programme for associate, bachelor's, master's and PhD study at Turkish universities. It includes a university place and a one-year Turkish language course. It is open to international students, including Pakistanis.

What it covers

  • University and department placement
  • Tuition fee
  • Monthly stipend: 6,500 TL (undergraduate), 9,500 TL (master's), 13,000 TL (PhD)
  • Accommodation (dormitory)
  • Health insurance
  • One-year Turkish language course
  • One-off flight ticket (at the start and end of studies)

Who can apply

  • Open to international students (Pakistani citizens can apply).
  • Merit-based and competitive: strong academic results matter most.
  • Undergraduate: finished or finishing secondary school. National exam or SAT/IB results help.
  • Master's/PhD: a relevant bachelor's/master's. PhD applicants submit a research proposal and a writing sample.
  • Graduate scholarships are not offered in health sciences.
  • Candidates without C1 Turkish must take the one-year Turkish course.
  • A separate Merit Scholarship (double stipend) needs, for example, a 90% average plus high SAT/GRE/ALES and TOEFL/IELTS scores.

How to apply

  1. Create an account on the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS).
  2. Choose your programme and universities from the options offered.
  3. Upload your documents and submit between 10 January and 20 February. The application is free.
  4. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed. Results follow later in the year.
  5. Check your email and the TBBS account for interview invitations.

  • Valid passport or national ID
  • Photo taken within the last year
  • National exam results (if any)
  • Diploma or temporary graduation certificate
  • Transcript
  • International exam results (GRE, GMAT, SAT etc.) if required
  • Language test results (TOEFL, etc.) if required
  • Research proposal and writing sample (PhD only)
