A fully funded one-year Master's in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing, built to develop future leaders who understand China's global role. Scholars are chosen from an international pool, and non-Chinese applicants use the U.S. and Global application.

Who can apply

  • Applicants who are not Chinese citizens (including Pakistanis) apply through the U.S. and Global application.
  • You need a bachelor's degree. If you are still studying, you must finish all degree requirements before 1 August of your enrolment year. Any field of study is welcome.
  • You must be at least 18 but under 29 on 1 August of your enrolment year (for the 2028-29 class, 1 August 2028).
  • You must be proficient in English: TOEFL 100, IELTS 7, Cambridge C1/C2 185 or Duolingo 130. This is waived if you studied at least two years of your degree in English.
  • You need extraordinary leadership, strong intellect and exemplary character.

How to apply

  1. Watch for the U.S. and Global application for the Class of 2028-2029, open April to September 2027.
  2. Complete the online application in English.
  3. Upload a 2-page CV, a 750-word Leadership Essay, a 500-word Statement of Purpose and official transcripts.
  4. Register recommenders and record a 1-minute video introduction.
  5. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed in late October/early November.
