Peking University is a comprehensive public research university in Beijing and was China's first national university, founded in 1898. International undergraduates are taught in Chinese (HSK 6 needed). Graduate students are admitted through an 'application + examination' process, and some master's and PhD majors are taught in English.

English requirementEnglish-taught graduate programmes: non-native speakers need TOEFL iBT 100+ or GRE 315+ (or other proof of English), and each programme's own brochure takes precedence. Chinese-taught graduate programmes need HSK 6 (200+ for science/engineering, 210+ for humanities/social sciences, writing at least 65). Undergraduate programmes need HSK 6 with 210 or more.
