Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program (AFLSP) at Tsinghua University

Funded by the Bai Xian Asia Institute, AFLSP offers non-Chinese students from Asia a scholarship for a master's degree at Tsinghua. It covers tuition and a living allowance for one or two years and includes compulsory leadership enrichment activities. It is separate from the Chinese Government (CSC) Scholarship.

Deadline: Closed for 2026; the last scholarship deadline was 1 March 2026 (Beijing time). The next call is expected with the 2027 admission cycle.

What it covers

  • Tuition fees

Who can apply

Open to non-Chinese citizens from Asia, which includes Pakistan.

  • You must meet Tsinghua's admission requirements for international master's students.
  • You should show academic excellence, leadership, integrity, commitment to service and interest in intercultural understanding.
  • You need good English and presentation skills.
  • You must not hold another Tsinghua scholarship.
  • You must be applying to the Beijing campus; Shenzhen International Graduate School is excluded.

Scholars must take part in all mandatory enrichment programmes run by Tsinghua and BXAI in Beijing. Incomplete applications, or materials sent after the deadline, are not processed.

How to apply

  1. Apply online for a full-time international master's programme at Tsinghua (for 2026 entry the window ran September 2025 to February 2026).
  2. Email the AFLSP application form, with a three-minute video link, and your documents to your target department.
  3. Name files as 'THU-Name-Material'.
  4. The department nominates candidates; final selection involves BXAI.
