Knight-Hennessy funds up to three years of graduate study at Stanford alongside a leadership programme. It welcomes citizens of all countries and has no quotas by field or region.

What it covers

  • Fellowship for up to three years of tuition
  • Stipend for living and academic expenses
  • Travel stipend for one annual trip to and from Stanford
  • King Global Leadership Program

Who can apply

  • Open to citizens and residents of all countries, with no limits on age, university, field or career plans.
  • You must apply to, be accepted by and enrol in a full-time Stanford graduate degree (JSD, MLS and some internal routes are excluded).
  • You must have earned your first bachelor's degree in January 2020 or later (January 2018 or later for military service), or earn it by September 2027.
  • Pakistani degrees must be equivalent to a US bachelor's and meet Stanford's rules for international applicants.
  • No minimum GPA or test score; follow your degree programme's requirements.

Scholars are selected for independence of thought, purposeful leadership and a civic mindset.

How to apply

  1. Pick your Stanford graduate programme(s).
  2. Submit the free Knight-Hennessy application by 6 October 2026, 1:00pm Pacific: resume, transcripts, short answers and essay, and recommendation letters.
  3. Separately apply to your Stanford programme by its KHS deadline or 1 December 2026, whichever is earlier. MBA applicants must use Round 1.
  4. Finalists are invited to submit a video statement and attend Immersion Weekend.
