Harvard College is need-blind for every applicant, including international students, and meets 100% of demonstrated financial need with aid based only on need. International students get exactly the same aid as Americans.

What it covers

Who can apply

  • Admission and aid rules are the same regardless of nationality or citizenship, with no quotas for international applicants.
  • Admission is need-blind: applying for aid never affects your chances.
  • Aid is 100% need-based; Harvard gives no merit scholarships.
  • Families earning under USD 100,000 are expected to pay nothing. Up to USD 200,000, aid covers at least full tuition, and higher incomes may still qualify.
  • Students usually contribute through term-time jobs. Health insurance is required unless covered by a family plan.
  • International applicants are still expected to submit SAT/ACT where they can.

How to apply

  1. Apply to Harvard College (Restrictive Early Action or Regular Decision) and request a fee waiver if the fee is a hardship.
  2. File the CSS Profile (Harvard code 3434); international students with payment problems can use Harvard's alternative instructions.
  3. Upload parents' income or tax documents from Pakistan (translated into English) or a wage statement/salary certificate through IDOC.
  4. Submit by the aid deadline for your round.
