KAIST Scholarship for International Graduate Students (KGPS / KPS)

KAIST's scholarship for international graduate students covers full tuition, national health insurance and a monthly stipend, and 94% of its international students receive it. If you choose the KAIST scholarship in your application, you are also considered for the Global Presidential (Master's) or Prestige (PhD) scholarship.

Deadline: Spring 2027 round ran 18 August - 1 September 2026. Fall 2027 Early Track usually runs early to late December; Regular Track early to late March.

What it covers

  • Full tuition
  • National health insurance
  • Monthly stipend depending on research involvement
  • KGPS (Master's / integrated): full tuition and KRW 1,000,000 per month for 4 semesters
  • KPS (PhD): full tuition and KRW 300,000 per month for 8 semesters

Who can apply

Open to international applicants to KAIST graduate programmes, including Pakistanis.

  • For a Master's or integrated Master's-PhD: a Bachelor's degree (4-year or equivalent) by the start of the course.
  • For a PhD: a Master's degree or equivalent by the start of the course.
  • English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.). Pakistani citizens may be exempted if their degree was taught in English in Pakistan and they submit an English-medium certificate.
  • KGPS and KPS go to highly competitive applicants recommended by the department head.

How to apply

  1. Create an ApplyWeb account on the KAIST international graduate admissions site.
  2. Choose the Spring, Fall Early or Fall Regular admission round.
  3. Select the KAIST scholarship as your financial resource in the application.
  4. Upload your documents and recommendations before the round closes; eligible admitted students are considered automatically for KGPS/KPS.
  5. Check the College of Engineering stipend page if you are applying to engineering, since stipends vary by college.
