Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (GKS-U)

GKS-U funds an associate or bachelor's degree in Korea after one year of Korean language training. The Korean Embassy in Pakistan is recruiting for 2027 now, with a very small quota.

What it covers

  • One year of Korean language training
  • Full scholarship package for the degree (tuition, allowance and airfare as set in the 2027 guidelines)

Who can apply

  • You and both parents must hold non-Korean citizenship.
  • Under 25 years of age.
  • A high school graduate or expected graduate. Bachelor's degree holders cannot apply.
  • Academic standard: cumulative score of 80% or higher, or top 20% of your class, or the required CGPA.
  • Pakistan Embassy track quota for 2027: 2 places (General 2 / R-GKS 1, as stated by the Embassy).
  • Embassy-track applicants from Pakistan must submit apostilled documents at the first round.

Note: you may apply through only one track (Embassy or University) in a given year. Expected graduates must finish high school by the date set in the guidelines.

How to apply

  1. Download the 2027 GKS-U guidelines and university information file.
  2. Create an account on the Study in Korea website.
  3. Complete the online Embassy-track application and upload apostilled documents.
  4. Submit by 30 September 2026, 2:00 PM Pakistan time.
  5. Shortlisted candidates then follow the Embassy's instructions for originals and interviews.
  6. Keep your online application number for later rounds.

  • Proof of citizenship of applicant and parents
