NUST Need-Based Financial Aid (NNBS)

NUST's need-based scholarship programme helps students from low and middle-income families who are admitted on merit. It is funded by NUST and external donors, and awards cover part or all of academic costs. Interest-free loans and fee instalments are also available.

Deadline: The NFAAF deadline is the same as the NUST online admission deadline for each intake.

What it covers

  • Need-based scholarship covering partial or full academic expenditure (up to 4 years for undergraduate, 2 years for Master's)
  • Interest-free loans (e.g. tuition fee deferment, Ihsan Trust)
  • Fee instalment facility (not for admission/1st semester dues)

Who can apply

  • Admitted to NUST purely on merit in an undergraduate or Master's programme.
  • Demonstrated financial need, worked out from your family's Net Disposable Income (income minus expenses), dependants, assets, housing and expenses.
  • You must also apply for external scholarships such as PEEF, SEEF, BEEF, CMEEF or HEC and show proof of applying or the result.
  • Students whose finances change suddenly after admission can apply during their studies through their NUST school.
  • NUST may verify information, including home or business visits. False information leads to cancellation, blacklisting and recovery of dues.

How to apply

  1. Submit the online Need-Based Financial Aid Application Form (NFAAF) by the same deadline as your NUST admission application, with soft copies of supporting documents.
  2. When the Financial Aid Office emails you, send the hard-copy documents to FAO, NUST H-12 Islamabad.
  3. Receive the provisional aid decision with your admission offer (July/August) and accept or decline it.
  4. Pay the admission dues to secure your seat and scholarship slot.
  5. Submit the Deed of Agreement to FAO on time.

  • Income certificates / last three months' salary slips of all earning members
  • Pension book or retirement/final settlement letter (if retired)
  • Income tax returns
  • Bank statements for the last 12 months of all family accounts
  • Latest utility bills
  • Rent/lease agreements
  • Property and vehicle ownership documents
  • Loan documents
  • Siblings' fee receipts and concession letters
  • Medical expense records (if applicable)
  • Domicile of applicant
  • CNIC/B-Form of applicant and parents
  • Photos of the house (inside and outside)
