Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship Project (BISP / formerly Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship)

A need-based scheme that pays tuition and a yearly stipend for the full 4-5 year undergraduate degree of students from low-income families at HEC-recognized public sector universities. Half of the awards are reserved for female students and 2% for students with disabilities.

Deadline: HEC's How-to-Apply page says the scholarship portal is currently closed. New intakes are announced by HEC, and universities set their own deadlines for submitting hard copies.

Who can apply

The scholarship is for newly admitted undergraduate students at HEC-recognized public sector universities who can prove financial need.

Admission must be secured on merit in an HEC-allowed 4-5 year degree programme.
Age limit is the university's own maximum age for undergraduate admission.
50% of scholarships are reserved for female students and 2% for students with disabilities.

Not eligible: students already holding another scholarship or continuous grant; students of private universities, affiliated colleges or distance learning; admissions on self-finance, self-support or higher-fee evening programmes; two-year associate, BA/BSc (2-year), Master's programmes; and associate degree holders entering a BS programme laterally in the 5th semester.

How to apply

Secure merit admission in an eligible programme at a participating public university.
When HEC opens the portal, fill and submit the online form at ehsaas.hec.gov.pk (saved forms are not accepted).
Print the form and submit it with supporting documents to your university's Student Financial Aid Office by the deadline (do not send it to HEC or BISP).
Attend the interview by the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee.
If selected, sign the deed of agreement and receive the award letter from the Financial Aid Office.

Utility bills of the last six months (electricity, gas, telephone, water)
Rent agreement (if living in a rented house)
Last fee receipts of applicant and siblings (if applicable)
Medical bills (if applicable)
One passport-size photograph
