HEC Undergraduate Scholarships for Students of Balochistan and Erstwhile FATA (Phase-III)

HEC funds about 1,000 undergraduate scholarships per batch, split 50:50 between students domiciled in Balochistan and erstwhile FATA. The awards cover study at HEC-recognized public or private universities elsewhere in Pakistan. Selection combines an HEC/ETC aptitude test with SSC and HSSC marks and district quotas.

Deadline: Batch-IV closed on 23 October 2025 (extended date). HEC announces new batches on its website.

What it covers

Tuition fee and other charges including hostel fee up to Rs. 200,000 per year
Living allowance of Rs. 12,000 per month
Book allowance of Rs. 10,000 per annum
Travelling allowance of Rs. 10,000 per annum
Initial settlement allowance of Rs. 20,000 (once)

Who can apply

Your own and your father's valid domicile/local certificate of Balochistan or erstwhile FATA, verified by the district administration.
Age 22 or younger on the closing date, with no relaxation.
12 years of education with at least 60% marks in FA/FSc/ICOM/ICS/DAE or equivalent (O/A-level students need IBCC equivalence).
Students already enrolled in a bachelor's programme may apply if they meet the criteria. Students awaiting results may not.
Not already holding any HEC, government or university scholarship or financial assistance.
90% of awards go to 'IN' students who did intermediate inside Balochistan/FATA, and 10% to 'OUT' students.
At least 50% marks in the HEC test. Merit is 50% test, 20% SSC and 30% HSSC.

Apply online at scholarships.hec.gov.pk and upload your attested CNIC, domiciles and educational documents as PDFs (5 MB maximum each).
Pay the Rs. 500 test fee through 1Link 1Bill and click 'Verify Online Payment'.
Submit the application and check for the acknowledgement email. Saved forms are not considered.
Take the HEC/ETC test in your chosen category, then secure admission yourself.
