Every student admitted to KAUST's MS or PhD programmes receives the KAUST Fellowship for the length of their studies. It covers full tuition, a living allowance, housing, medical cover and relocation. KAUST's students come from more than 100 countries.

Who can apply

KAUST admits students from all countries, including Pakistan; every admitted student receives the Fellowship.

A relevant degree for MS, MS/PhD or PhD admission, with a strong academic record.
English: TOEFL iBT 81 or IELTS 6.5 (waived for degrees from the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or NZ).
GRE is not required but strongly encouraged.
Three letters of recommendation from academic referees.

Spring 2027 entry is for PhD applicants only; Fall 2027 is open to MS, MS/PhD and PhD.

Over 90% of admitted students receive full support. Charges may apply for dependants' housing and medical cover.

How to apply

Choose your programme on the KAUST admissions website.
Submit the online application with transcripts (with English translation), CV, test scores and three recommendations.
For Fall 2027, apply in Round 2 (opens 28 September 2026, closes 3 January 2027).
Take part in an interview if invited; decisions come on 14 February 2027.
