Uppsala University's government-funded scholarship covering the full tuition fee for an international Master's programme. It is for citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland and is very competitive, with about 2% of applicants succeeding.

Deadline: Closed for autumn 2026; the last period was 16 January-2 February 2026. Next round opens in early 2027.

Who can apply

Pakistani citizens qualify as citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.

  • You have applied to an Uppsala international Master's programme before the University Admissions deadline.
  • That programme is your first priority among your choices.
  • You meet the entry requirements and your application fee and documents reach University Admissions on time.
  • You can cover your own living costs as the Swedish Migration Agency requires.
  • A few programmes (e.g. some Nordic joint Master's) are not eligible.

Selection is merit-based; financial need is not considered.

How to apply

  1. Apply for the Master's programme at universityadmissions.se, ranking Uppsala first, and note your 8-digit application number.
  2. Check the scholarship criteria.
  3. During the scholarship period (mid-January to early February), fill in Uppsala's online scholarship form with your application number.
  4. Write a motivation letter of up to 350 words in the form. There is no scholarship fee.
