University of Eastern Finland Early Bird Discount and Tuition Waivers

UEF supports fee-paying students from outside the EU/EEA with a 30% early-bird discount in the first year and a 30% waiver in later years for good study progress. There are no full waivers, and nothing else can be applied for at admission for the 2027 intake.

Deadline: Early Bird payment is usually due within 21 days of admission results; later waivers have their own application periods.

What it covers

  • 30% Early Bird discount on the first-year tuition fee (€3,000/€3,600)
  • 30% tuition waiver in later years for students completing 55 ECTS in year one (where available)
  • Finnish Proficiency waivers of €2,500 or €1,500

Who can apply

Pakistani students are fee-liable (from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland) and can benefit.

  • You are admitted to the 2027 intake of an English-taught UEF programme and must pay tuition fees.
  • For the Early Bird discount you accept your offer and pay the fee (or first instalment) by the deadline in your admission letter, usually within 21 days.
  • For the second-year waiver you complete at least 55 ECTS in your first year in your study plan.
  • Finnish Proficiency waivers reward Finnish language studies or certificates.

UEF does not offer full waivers or humanitarian scholarships, so plan for the rest of the fee and living costs.

How to apply

  1. Apply for a UEF international programme.
  2. After admission, accept your place and pay the reduced first-year fee by the date in your admission letter to get the Early Bird discount.
  3. After year one, apply in the separate application period for the 30% waiver if you completed 55 ECTS.
  4. Apply for a Finnish Proficiency waiver once you qualify.
