NTU awards this scholarship to outstanding local and international students admitted full-time to a graduate research programme. It covers annual tuition and pays a monthly stipend, with no bond. International scholars do teaching or lab supervision duties.

Deadline: No separate scholarship deadline; apply by your programme's admission deadline (January and August intakes).

What it covers

Annual tuition fee
Monthly stipend for international PhD students of SGD 3,000 (from January 2026)
Monthly stipend for international Master's students of SGD 2,900
Possible extra stipend of up to SGD 500 per month after passing the PhD Qualifying Examination

Who can apply

Open to local and international students, including Pakistanis, applying full-time to a Graduate Research programme at NTU.

Minimum of Honours (Distinction) or equivalent.
No bond is attached.
Awarded for one year at first and renewed on good progress, up to 2 years (Master's) or 4 years (PhD), depending on school and funding.
International students must fulfil the Graduate Assistantship Programme (teaching/lab supervision).

Scholars from Singapore receive CPF contributions; this does not apply to international students. The University may change stipend amounts with written notice.

Apply for admission online.
Indicate your interest in the NTU Research Scholarship in the admission application.
Successful candidates are told together with the admission offer by email.
Before the semester starts, add a Singapore bank account in GSLink so your stipend is paid on time.
Follow the scholarship's terms and conditions to keep receiving it.
