HKU HeForShe IMPACT Champion Scholarship

HKU's HeForShe IMPACT Champion Scholarship supports outstanding students, mainly women, who have overcome gender inequality or disadvantage, with preference for countries with low development indicators. It gives a renewable full tuition waiver plus a travel allowance.

Deadline: Closed for 2026; last deadline was 31 January 2026. Later interest was considered subject to availability. Check for 2027 dates.

Who can apply

Open to international applicants worldwide, with preference for disadvantaged backgrounds or countries with low achievement in health, education, income and gender equality. Pakistani students can apply.

Outstanding academic results; national qualifications are accepted.
Mainly for female students; male students with a proven commitment to HeForShe goals are also eligible.
Evidence of acting as an 'Impact Champion' in your community.

How to apply

Apply for undergraduate admission through HKU's online application system.
Indicate interest in the HeForShe IMPACT Champion Scholarship on the form.
Upload an essay of up to 500 words about your impact role, goals, and the barriers you have overcome.
Submit all supporting documents by the deadline. Students in financial difficulty can ask their counsellor to request an application fee waiver.
