Police Character Certificate in Islamabad: ICT Police Khidmat Markaz, Fee and Documents

Islamabad Capital Territory Police issues the Police Character Certificate through its Police Khidmat Markaz for international travel, visa applications, overseas jobs, immigration and university admissions abroad. Residents of Islamabad can apply in person or start an online application on the Islamabad Police website.

Step by step

  1. Open the Character Certificate page on islamabadpolice.gov.pk and fill the Apply Online form (name, father's name, CNIC and passport details, Islamabad address, police station, stay period and purpose), or book an appointment on the ICT Police appointment portal.
  2. Visit the Police Khidmat Markaz with your original CNIC/B-Form and passport and proof of residence in Islamabad.
  3. If your CNIC does not show an Islamabad address, bring an affidavit confirming your residence in Islamabad.
  4. Pay the Rs. 1,000 application fee at the counter.
  5. Standard processing takes 3 working days.
  6. If you are abroad, a blood relative can apply with your authority letter (embassy-stamped or attested by a gazetted officer), your recent photo, an affidavit stating your stay abroad and a copy of your passport's last exit page.

My CNIC has an address outside Islamabad. Can I still apply?

Yes. Islamabad Police accepts applicants whose CNIC shows another address if they submit an affidavit confirming current residence in Islamabad, along with proof such as a rent agreement, allotment letter or hostel letter on official letterhead.

How long is an Islamabad police character certificate valid?

Islamabad Police says it is generally accepted for 6 months to 1 year, but the receiving country or employer decides. Check the embassy or employer checklist before applying so the certificate does not expire before you submit it.
