Board Verification of Matric and Inter Certificates Before IBCC Attestation (BISE Example)

Education documents · Checked October 9, 2026 against the official source

Before IBCC will attest your Matric (SSC) or Intermediate (HSSC) certificate or result card, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) that issued it must verify it and send the verification to IBCC. This guide uses BISE Gujranwala's official IBCC verification service as the example; BISE Lahore and other Punjab and provincial boards run similar online services.

Where to applyApply online on the e-services portal of the board that issued your certificate (for example BISE Gujranwala or BISE Lahore). Each board sets its own fee and process.

Step by step

  1. Open your board's online e-services portal. For BISE Gujranwala this is the Foreign / IBCC Verification page on services.bisegrw.edu.pk; BISE Lahore offers "Attestation of Certificate / Result Card (for IBCC)" on its e-Services portal (eportal.biselahore.com).
  2. Read the board's verification instructions, then generate an online fee challan.
  3. Pay the fee first. BISE Gujranwala accepts HBL (branch, mobile app, Konnect, internet banking), QR payment, Easypaisa, JazzCash and 1Bill.
  4. Enter the challan number and payment details and submit the online verification form with your roll number, year and certificate details.
  5. The board verifies its record and sends the verification to IBCC. Before booking IBCC attestation, make sure the verification is visible online in the IBCC Attestation Portal.
  6. Then apply for attestation at IBCC (attest.ibcc.edu.pk).

Frequently asked questions

Why does IBCC need board verification first?

IBCC's rules say every certificate, diploma, mark sheet or result card must be verified by the issuing board before IBCC attests it. IBCC also asks you to confirm the verification is available online in its Attestation Portal before you submit your documents.

Is the fee the same at every board?

No. Each board sets its own fee. BISE Gujranwala raised its IBCC verification fee from Rs. 3,100 to Rs. 4,100 per copy from 19 September 2026. Check the current notification of the board that issued your certificate before paying.

My certificates were attested by IBCC before 2010. Do I need fresh board verification?

Yes. IBCC requires students whose certificates, diplomas or mark sheets were attested before 2010 to submit a fresh verification from the issuing board.

Does HEC need BISE verification for degree attestation?

HEC attests university degrees only, and the university verifies those records directly. Board verification is needed for IBCC attestation of Matric and Intermediate documents. HEC equivalence of a foreign degree asks for your Matric and Inter certificates, or IBCC equivalence for foreign school qualifications.

Fees and procedures change. This guide summarises the official information; confirm on the official page before you pay or apply. Never pay agents who claim to "speed up" official attestation.
