IBCC Attestation of Matric and Intermediate Certificates for Abroad: Process and Fee

Education documents · Checked October 9, 2026 against the official source

IBCC attests SSC (Matric) and HSSC (Intermediate) certificates and mark sheets issued by Pakistani boards (BISEs/BTEs), plus IBCC equivalence certificates, so they are accepted by embassies, foreign universities and employers abroad. Your board must verify the documents before IBCC will attest them.

Processing timeAppointment: same or next day. Express: returned within about an hour of submission. Courier: within 15 working days (submission modes page; IBCC FAQ says 10 working days).
Where to applyApply on the IBCC Attestation portal, then visit the IBCC head office in Islamabad or a regional office (Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Bahawalpur), or use courier. Courier attestation is handled only at IBCC Islamabad and the Karachi regional office.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to go to IBCC myself?

No. A blood relative can submit on your behalf if they carry proof of the relationship, or you can use the courier option. Note that IBCC returns courier documents only to an address inside Pakistan, not abroad.

Does IBCC attest bachelor's or master's degrees?

No. IBCC attests only Matric, Intermediate and equivalent school-level documents from recognised boards, plus school leaving certificates up to class 8. University degrees are attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) through its online portal.

The embassy wants my certificates re-verified. What should I do?

IBCC attestation carries a lifetime QR code that can be checked by scanning it or through the verification link on IBCC's website, so re-verification is not needed. If your documents were attested without a QR code, you can apply for re-attestation on paying the fee.

Can IBCC give me sealed attested copies for WES or ICAS?

Yes. On request, IBCC seals attested photocopies of certificates and mark sheets in an envelope for foreign evaluation agencies such as WES and ICAS. IBCC says a nominal fee is charged for this sealed envelope service.

Fees and procedures change. This guide summarises the official information; confirm on the official page before you pay or apply. Never pay agents who claim to "speed up" official attestation.
