Frequently asked questions

Is GAMCA the same as Wafid?

Wafid is the current Gulf Health Council program through which people going to work or live in GCC states book their medical check-up at an accredited centre. Pakistan is one of the countries covered. Book only on the official wafid.com site, not through agents selling slips.

Can I choose my medical centre?

With a Standard appointment the centre is assigned automatically by your chosen city. The Premium appointment lets you choose the medical centre and date. You can change city only after your current slip expires, by generating a new slip.

What makes a candidate unfit?

Wafid lists infectious conditions such as HIV, hepatitis B surface antigen or hepatitis C antibody positive, malaria, leprosy and abnormal chest X-rays (including TB signs), plus serious conditions like renal, liver or heart failure, uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes, cancer and certain disabilities.

What if my details on the slip are wrong?

Ask the medical centre to submit a change request ('change candidate details' or 'change medical exam request') and get the request number. Wafid says this correction is free, so do not pay anyone for it.
