Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif

Registration open Farmers · Checked 29 October 2026

Ongoing programme. In October 2026 Phase 4 loans were being recovered: bill SMS sent 15 Oct and dues payable by 26 Oct 2026, with the next interest-free loan credited within 48 hours of repayment, and lucky-draw prizes (tractors, motorcycles, phones) for farmers who repay on time. On 28 Oct 2026 the CM announced the per-acre limit is rising to Rs 33,500. About 1 million farmers have cards. Related: the CM Punjab Green Tractor Programme Phase II (Agriculture Department) gives a Rs 0.5 million subsidy per 50-65 hp tractor to farmers with 5+ acres, and the Hi-Power Tractor Programme gives Rs 1 million per 75-120 hp tractor to farmers with 7+ acres (apply at gts.punjab.gov.pk).

An interest-free, unsecured crop loan on a Bank of Punjab card that small landowning farmers in Punjab use to buy seed, fertiliser and other farm inputs from registered dealers. The government pays the full markup; the farmer repays the principal after each season and is then eligible for the next season's loan.

What you get: Interest-free (0% to the farmer, markup paid by the Government of Punjab) seasonal loan on a Bank of Punjab Kissan Card. Phase 1 (Rabi 2024-25): Rs 30,000 per acre, up to 5 acres, i.e. Rs 30,000 minimum and Rs 150,000 maximum per season. On 28 October 2026 the Chief Minister announced the per-acre limit is rising from Rs 30,000 to Rs 33,500 (the extra Rs 3,500 is meant for DAP fertiliser) for the wheat season. The loan can only be spent on farm inputs (fertiliser, seed, and pesticides per the CM) at registered dealers. From Phase 2, news reports say part of the limit is available as cash (30%) and diesel at registered PSO pumps (25%). Each season runs 6 months, followed by a 1-month grace period for repayment. A card issuance fee of Rs 1,000 per acre was charged in Phase 1.
