Milano-Bicocca 2027/28: 3.4 CGPA Minimum for Pakistani Students, 2+2 and BBA Degrees Not Accepted
The University of Milano-Bicocca has published country-wise entry rules for 2027/28. Pakistani master's applicants need a 4-year bachelor's with at least 3.4/4.0 CGPA; 2+2 degrees and BBA degrees are not accepted.
Yes, the news is true. The University of Milano-Bicocca in Milan has published new country-by-country entry requirements for the 2027/28 academic year. For students from Pakistan, a master's application now needs a 4-year bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.4 out of 4.0, and the university states clearly that the 2+2 academic path is not accepted. Applications that do not meet these basic criteria are excluded automatically, before any professor reads them.
Checked on 26 October 2026 against the university's official application portal and its entry requirements document.
What exactly changed
On 13 October 2026, Milano-Bicocca announced that "starting from the 2027/28 academic year, specific entry requirements will apply to international students", with rules that depend on the country where you studied. Its admissions team first checks every application against formal eligibility criteria and a minimum GPA. Only applications that pass this check are sent to professors for academic evaluation.
| Pakistan | Official requirement (2027/28) |
|---|---|
| Bachelor's (undergraduate) programmes | Higher Secondary School Certificate / Intermediate (FA, FSc, ICS, I.Com), with at least 12 years of schooling |
| Master's (postgraduate) programmes | Honours Bachelor of Arts / Science degree of 4 years, MBBS (5 years) or Doctor of Pharmacy (5 years) |
| Minimum bachelor's CGPA | 3.4 / 4.0 |
| Note | 2+2 academic path is NOT accepted |
Who is not eligible for a master's at Milano-Bicocca
- 2+2 degrees: a two-year bachelor's (for example a BA or BSc pass degree) followed by a two-year master's (MA or MSc) is not accepted, even if together they add up to 16 years. If your BS was completed through a 2-year Associate Degree plus 2 more years, ask the university before you apply, because this is also a two-step path.
- BBA degrees: the university says Bachelor of Business Administration degrees are "explicitly not accepted" as an entry qualification for its master's programmes. This affects many Pakistani business graduates.
- Franchised and TNE degrees: bachelor's degrees taught under a franchise agreement (where a foreign university lets a local institution teach its degree) are not accepted. Other transnational degrees are accepted only if the programme is officially accredited in both countries.
- CGPA below 3.4: applications under the threshold are excluded automatically.
Meeting these rules does not guarantee admission. Each programme can set a higher CGPA or other selection criteria, so read the programme page on the university's DreamApply portal as well.

- Is your bachelor's a single 4-year degree (BS, BSc Hons, BE, BSc Engineering, MBBS, Pharm-D)? If it is 2+2 or a BBA, do not apply for a master's here.
- Is your CGPA 3.4 or above out of 4.0? If your transcript shows percentage or division only, message the university on DreamApply before applying. You can use our CGPA to percentage calculator to understand your result.
- Was your degree taught under a franchise of a foreign university? If yes, it will not be accepted.
- Does the programme you want ask for a higher CGPA or extra documents? Check its page on apply.unimib.it.
- Do you have an accepted English certificate, or can you get one by 5 February 2027?
