What you pay to register a new car or motorcycle: the registration fee, smart card, capital value tax and FBR's income tax under section 231B, for filers and non-filers.
231B is worked out on the invoice value including duties and taxes. Number plate fees are not included for Punjab because Excise does not list the amounts.

How much is the car registration fee in Punjab?
Punjab charges 1% of the car's value up to 1000cc, 2% for 1001-2000cc and 4% above 2000cc, plus a Rs 1,300 smart card fee. Cars above 1300cc also pay a 1% capital value tax at first registration, and the token tax is paid on top.
What is the income tax at car registration (231B)?
Under section 231B, FBR collects advance income tax at first registration, as a percentage of the invoice value: from 0.5% (up to 850cc) to 12% (above 3000cc) for filers. Non-filers pay three times the filer rate.
How much is car registration in Islamabad?
In Islamabad the 231B income tax is the same as everywhere in Pakistan (shown by this calculator). ICT Excise also charges its own registration fee, number plate and smart card fees, which it does not publish online; ask at the ICT Excise & Taxation office or check its online portal.
How much does it cost to register a motorcycle in Punjab?
Rs 1,000 up to 70cc, Rs 1,500 for 71-100cc, Rs 2,000 for 101-125cc, Rs 2,500 for 126-150cc and 2% of value above 150cc, plus the Rs 1,300 smart card and a one-time Rs 1,500 token tax.
