How to use this calculator

  • Enter your taxable salary. Some allowances can be exempt (for example part of a medical allowance), and benefits like a company car can be added, so your payslip may differ slightly.
  • Your employer deducts the yearly tax in equal monthly instalments. If your salary changes during the year, the monthly deduction is adjusted.
  • The salaried rates apply only when salary is more than 75% of your taxable income.

Questions

How much tax is deducted from a Rs 100,000 salary in 2026-27?

On a monthly salary of Rs 100,000 (Rs 1.2 million a year) the tax is Rs 6,000 a year, or Rs 500 a month, so take-home pay is Rs 99,500.

What is the tax-free salary limit in Pakistan?

Salaried income up to Rs 600,000 a year (Rs 50,000 a month) is not taxed in tax year 2027 (FY 2026-27).

Is there a surcharge on high salaries in 2026-27?

No. The Finance Act 2026 withdrew the 9% surcharge for salaried individuals. It applied in 2025-26 to taxable income above Rs 10 million.

Who can use the salaried tax rates?

The salaried rates apply when salary is more than 75% of your taxable income. If most of your income is from business or rent, different rates apply.

Why is my actual deduction different?

Your employer works out tax on your taxable salary, which can exclude some allowances (for example part of a medical allowance or an employer's provident fund contribution) and include benefits such as a company car. Check your payslip or ask your HR department.
