Passport fee in Pakistan: e-passport and normal passport

Children under 15 get 5-year validity only. Executive Passport Offices and NADRA counters charge their own service fee on top.

Machine readable passport (older type) fees
DGIP announced on 1 July 2026 that e-passports replace ordinary (machine readable) passports. These fees still appear on DGIP's fee page; check with your passport office whether it still issues this type.

What is the e-passport fee in Pakistan?
A 36-page e-passport costs Rs 9,000 (normal) or Rs 15,000 (urgent) for 5 years, and Rs 13,500 or Rs 22,500 for 10 years. A 72-page e-passport costs Rs 16,500 / Rs 27,000 for 5 years and Rs 24,750 / Rs 40,500 for 10 years.
What is the normal passport fee for 5 years?
For the older machine readable passport, the 36-page 5-year fee is Rs 4,500 normal and Rs 7,500 urgent. DGIP announced in July 2026 that e-passports replace ordinary passports, so check which type your passport office issues.
How long does a passport take?
About 21 working days for normal, 5 for urgent, and 2 for fast track (machine readable passports only, in selected cities). DGIP says fast track is not available for e-passports.
Can children get a 10-year passport?
No. Children under 15 get a passport valid for 5 years only.
Are there other charges?
Executive Passport Offices and NADRA passport counters charge their own service fee on top of the passport fee. Pay the passport fee only through the bank or the official online channel, and keep the receipt.
