gptme is an AI agent that lives in the terminal. You can use it with Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek or a local model, and it runs anywhere a terminal does, from a laptop to SSH sessions, servers and CI.
It works in your real environment, using your shell, Python, files and git setup, and can even use a browser when needed. You can extend it with your own tools or leave it running on its own. It is MIT licensed and installed with pipx or uv.
