What each tool does
Notion AI is the AI layer inside the Notion workspace. It can search your pages, draft documents, analyse information and answer questions through chat. Newer additions include Notion Agents for repetitive work, enterprise search and AI meeting notes. The free individual plan includes a trial of AI features.
Gamma is an AI tool for creating presentations, simple websites and similar documents. You describe what you need, it produces a designed first version, and you edit from there. It needs no design or coding skills, is free to start and runs in the browser.
Key differences
- Purpose: Notion AI helps you manage and work with knowledge; Gamma helps you present it.
- Output: Notion AI produces text, summaries and organised pages; Gamma produces visually designed slides and web pages.
- Context: Notion AI works best when your content already lives in Notion; Gamma starts fresh from your prompt or outline.
- Audience: Notion AI suits teams and individuals organising work; Gamma suits students, teachers and professionals who present.
- Pricing: Both are freemium. Check the pricing pages for current plans and AI limits.
Which should you choose?
Choose Notion AI if Notion is already your home for notes, tasks and wikis and you want help searching, writing and summarising what is in there. It is most useful for ongoing, day-to-day work.
Choose Gamma if you regularly need to turn ideas into a polished deck, for a class, a client pitch or an office meeting, and do not want to fight with slide design. Its browser-based, free start makes it easy for students in Pakistan to try.
Can you use both?
Yes, they fit together naturally. You can research and draft your content in Notion with Notion AI, then paste the outline into Gamma to generate a presentation or a simple web page to share.
