Who is covered by Sehat Card Plus?
Every member of a family registered with NADRA as a permanent resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Your CNIC is the basis of eligibility, and there is no income test.
How much treatment can a family get?
At the province-wide rollout (Feb 2021) the limit was free treatment up to Rs 1 million per family per year. By law the maximum limit is fixed by the government on the Policy Board's advice, so check the current package at the hospital counter.
Do I need a separate card?
No. Show your CNIC at the Sehat Card Plus counter of an empanelled hospital.
Is OPD free?
Not generally. In February 2025 KP announced a free OPD pilot under Sehat Card Plus for 50,000 households in Mardan, to be extended later to Chitral, Malakand and Kohat.
I heard hospitals were limiting treatment. Is it still working?
Yes. In April 2026 funding delays led some public hospitals to restrict services, and the government released Rs 4 billion. In May 2026 officials said the programme continues and more reforms are coming.
